What Size Pole Barn is Right for You?<\/h2>\n

A wise sage uttered this wisdom once when counseling a customer on the size of their dream pole building.<\/p>\n

DIY Pole <\/a>Barns<\/a> has sold thousands of post frame structures over the past 12 years, and I am certain that not a single one was big enough.<\/p>\n

This quandary arises during every conversation we have with our customers. Budget constraints and zoning limitations are common culprits to somebody building the barn that will meet current and future needs. I have not met a customer yet that has an unlimited budget. I\u2019m sure they\u2019re out there, but they aren\u2019t calling us.\u00a0 There are many fine pole barn builders that market to these fortunate individuals.\u00a0 Instead, we concentrate on the salt-of-the-earth individuals who have sweat on their brows, callouses on their hands, and bank accounts to prove it. Their budget needs to stretch as far as possible. As for zoning limitations, that\u2019s worth a whole article of its own.<\/p>\n

So, what\u2019s a person do? How do you figure out how much barn you can afford without going too small or broke? One way is to layout the design on graph paper. Let\u2019s start with the basics.\u00a0 A simple two car garage is 24\u2019 wide by 24\u2019 long.\u00a0 This means that one car will take up a 12\u2019 wide by 24\u2019 long space. So you can now extrapolate that amount.\u00a0 A three car garage would be a 24×36, a four car garage<\/a> would be a 24×48, and so forth. Now draw a rectangle and start placing your items inside.\u00a0 You can also use a few online tools that are out there to do this electronically.<\/p>\n
