I\u2019ve got a habit of making decisions that catch people off guard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not because I\u2019m careless, and not because I haven\u2019t thought it through. Usually it\u2019s the opposite. I\u2019ve been chewing on something for weeks, turning it over in my head, reading late at night, praying quietly about it… and then all of a sudden, I move. To me, it feels like the next logical step. To everyone else, it sounds like it came out of nowhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve learned that just because I\u2019ve been living with an idea in my head doesn\u2019t mean everyone else has. What seems obvious to me might feel abrupt to someone else, simply because I didn\u2019t bring them along while I was sorting it out. That\u2019s something I\u2019m working on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Truth is, I wish I was more strategic. The kind of person who can lay out a long plan, stick to it, and follow it clean from start to finish. That sounds nice. Predictable. Efficient. But that\u2019s just not how I seem to operate. I think, I pray, I prepare, and once I\u2019ve figured out just enough to be dangerous, I go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don\u2019t wait for perfect. I act. I adjust. I learn as I go. And while it\u2019s not always polished, it usually moves things forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There\u2019s a fine line between being impulsive and being decisive. I try to stay on the right side of that line. Most of the time I do. When I don\u2019t, I admit it, make it right, and carry on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some folks need every detail lined up before they take the first step. I\u2019ve found that if I\u2019ve got a clear enough picture and peace in my gut, it\u2019s better to get moving and adjust along the way. Progress usually comes from doing, not waiting. And the Lord\u2019s been faithful to guide my steps once I\u2019ve taken one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
