Horse Shelter
Are you looking to build an inexpensive horse shelter? Consider a kit before doing it from scratch. Pole barns make perfect horse shelters. Rather than building a barn from scratch, a pole building can become a horse shelter in just a few days.
As a basic horse shelter kit, a pole barn can be large enough to house eight or more stalls, or one can be small enough for three or fewer animals. The inside of any horse shelter must be able to hold not only the stalls but also an area for hay storage and tack. The building should also be equipped with a door large enough for all animals and equipment to pass through.
The addition of stalls can be made after the pole barn has fully been installed. Another modification that should be made is reflective insulation and vented overhangs, as our standard pole barns do not include these. This will keep your barn from sweating on the inside and will allow fresh air into your horse shelter.
Not every horse shelter is used for housing animals. Some, on the other hand, are used as run-in sheds, which provide shade to horses during the day. With an open design, these horse shelters are placed in an area, such as a pasture, in which the animals move, and are used as shade during this time. In the evening, the animals can be secure inside a barn-like structure.
