Customizing your pole barn starts by choosing the size you want. DIY Pole Barns gives you a wide range of sizes to choose from. Need a small barn for extra storage on your homestead? Start as small as 24’x24’! Or maybe you want the horse arena of your dreams? Our barns can be ordered in sizes upwards of 70’x120’! Need an even bigger pole barn kit? Our pole barns can also range from 10’ to 20’ high. If you plan to store agricultural equipment or large vehicle likes RVs, make sure you choose enough height for safe clearance when you store them!
Our Instant Quote tool automatically determines the necessary snow load for your pole barn when you start customizing. But if you live in the snowy regions of the United States, you can increase your protection against snow by choosing a steeper pitch for your roof.
A standard pole barn roof has a 4/12 pitch. However, choosing the 6/12 pitch gives you a steeper roof that sheds snow more effectively, preventing build-up. Many pole barn owners also find they love the look of a steeper pitch!
Part of basic structure of your pole barn is the way your posts are spaced. The standard is 8’ post spacing, which creates plenty of room between columns and makes your pole barn exceptionally sturdy.
But sometimes you need more space between columns. Our tool lets you choose between 8’, 10’ or 12’ spacing. Larger spacing can make it easier for building horse barns, moving equipment in and around your pole barn and utilizing the space for large machinery.
